Zombie Dark Phoenix

🧟‍♀️🔥 Zombie Dark Phoenix from Marvel Zombies is rising from the ashes… and the infection.

This one was very fun to paint, especially the flames on the base. Wet blending continues to be one of my favorite techniques for fire. No matter how messy it starts, it always pulls together into something that looks really cool.

📸 Tried something new with the photography this time: I shot her on both a light and dark background and polled you all for your pick. Unsurprisingly, zombies + fire = dark background wins.

But man, that meant diving into a bunch of new camera settings and lighting to get it to look right. Always learning in this hobby and that’s half the fun!
