Logan & Nimrod

Days of Future Past, but make it chibi

Logan and Nimrod feel like opposite ends of the X-Men spectrum… one all grit and stubborn survival, the other cold precision and an endless mandate to hunt mutants. This storyline shaped so much of what the X-books became, so it was fun to bring both of these characters to life at the same time.

For Logan, I leaned into the scrappy, street-level look, building up the jacket greens and dirtying up the jeans so he felt mid-battle on those broken-brick bases. Nimrod was a different challenge entirely, with smooth armor panels that reward patience and careful layering. The pinks and whites took a few rounds to balance, and the little burst of flame at his feet was a good excuse to practice subtle heat transitions. Still learning every time I pick up the brush, and this pair reminded me why I enjoy this box so much.
